CHARLES CITY – A single-family rental house burned to the ground Tuesday morning in Charles City.
On December 9 at just after 8 AM, Charles City firefighters and police responded to the 800 block of 10th Avenue for a house engulfed in flames.
The house at 810 10th Avenue burned to the ground. The heat from the fire appeared to have damaged the adjacent garage and a house next door. There was a report of a minor injury connected to the fire.
Police and fire were called back to the smoldering fire later that day after it was reported the fire was not all the way out. Firefighters doused the area again to make sure the danger was quenched.
Documents show the house and property is owned by Brian Herman of Charles City.
