WWII vet and wife killed after struck by semi

iowa-state-patrol-logo-doorBANCROFT, IA – An Algona couple lost their lives after a three-vehicle accident Thursday in Kossuth county.

Edward Foertsch, age 88 and a World War II vet that helped free captives in German Concentration camps, and his wife, Agnes Foertsch, age 84, died as a result of a crash in Kossuth county at about 4:00 PM Thursday, November 13. Foertsch’s 2014 Grand Caravan failed to yield at an intersection on a county road near Bancroft and was struck by semi which sent it into the path of a second semi.

The couple was pronounced dead at the scene.  The truck drivers were not hurt.
