I want to take this opportunity to sincerely express my sincere appraciation to the citizens (voters) of Mason City who have elected me on three occasions to the Mason City City Council, and most recently, as a “write-in” on the Mason City Parks and Recreation Board.
My 12 years on the council have been an educational and rewarding experience. I am proud of what previous City Councils and the present City Council, which I’ve had the privilege to serve, have accomplished. Accomplishments to numerous to begin to mention, we have prepared our fine community for future growth.
My 12 years on the council have provided me with the opportunity to meet some wonderful people and develop friendships that I will cherish the rest of my life.
I am quite proud of my past public service to citizens and our city government, with 29 years of service, 12 years on the City Council, 12 years as a Civil Service Commissioner, and 5 years on the Building Advisory and Appeals Board, and now a 4 year term on the Parks and Recreation Board.
I also want to express my appreciation to the fine City Staff who over the past 12 years have been extremely responsive to my hundreds of memos relating to neighborhood issues and other various questions, community issues and concerns.
I wish only the very best and much success to our three newly-elected City Council members, Mayor and to the three Council members who remain.
It has been an honor, and a sincere privilege to serve the citizens of our fine community.
I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Mason City on the Parks and Recreation Board.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
