MASON CITY – An Illinois man recently released from jail as he awaits trial for a swath of felony charges was arrested just a few days later for assault with a dangerous weapon and other charges after police responded to an incident in the Cultural Crescent.
Jonathan Terez Harris, age 20 of Joliet, Illinois, was released from jail on September 2 on his own recognizance by Judge Karen Salic as he and his attorneys work out a guilty plea in a case involving charges of felony second degree theft, three charges of felony theft and contempt of court.
Just four days later, Harris found himself dealing with several police officers when a person called police to report an assault at an apartment house at the 500 block of East State Street.
