CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City took two women to jail after a traffic stop turned nasty.
On Thursday, September 4 at about 1:12 AM, an officer stopped a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Wonda Chapman-Spearman of Chicago near the intersection of South Main Street and Fifth Street. During the stop, the officer determined that Spearman was intoxicated and she was placed under arrest. At the same time, another woman who was riding in the car, 45-year-old Hilda Chapman-Kolheim, also of Chicago, became uncooperative with the arresting officer. She was then arrested on a charge of interference with official acts.
Both women were taken to jail, booked and soon released pending court dates.
