Waterloo cops discover over 10 grams of heroin packaged for delivery

WATERLOO – Drug investigators in Waterloo invaded a home there and dealt with a subject in possession of the extremely addictive drug heroin.

On Thursday, August 28, 2014 about 9:45 PM, investigators with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of 500 Reed Street in Waterloo, Iowa. During the search of the residence, a quantity of heroin packaged for delivery was located inside the residence. The suspect, 31-year-old Jonathan Nichols, was at the residence. Nichols was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver over 10 grams of Heroin, Violation of Iowa Drug Tax Stamp and Interference with Official Acts.

Nichols was later transported to the Black Hawk County Jail where he is still being held on $150,000 bond. The Tri-County Drug Task Force was also assisted by the Waterloo Police Department Tactical Team and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
