Jamie Sorenson joins Winnebago as Director of Specialty Vehicles

winnebagoFOREST CITY – Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WGO), a leading United States manufacturer of recreation vehicles, has named Jamie Sorenson to the position of Director of Specialty Vehicles.

In his new position, Sorenson is responsible for the Metro transit bus and commercial vehicle production.

Sorenson, 43, has joined Winnebago with a comprehensive background in emergency vehicle services, fire supply, emergency management, custom farm field operations, sheet metal fabrication, and over-the-road trucking.

“Jamie brings a unique perspective to our bus and commercial vehicle business,” said Winnebago VP Sales and Product Management Scott Degnan. “As owner of Emergency Vehicle Services, he has been involved in all aspects of design, sales, distribution, service and maintenance of fire apparatus. He has been a business owner and operator of a variety of business and farming operations and knows what it takes to build and maintain a successful business.”

“I am very excited about my new role as director of specialty vehicles,” said Sorenson. “The new Metro bus has a very unique design and will definitely be a quality leader in the transit bus business in years to come and we have tremendous opportunities with our commercial vehicles as well. I am anxious to take them to the next level.”

Sorenson is a native of Hanlontown, Iowa, where he continues to reside with his family. He is a member and former Fire Chief of the Hanlontown Fire Department. He was also a former director of the Worth County Emergency Management and E911 Board and also former member of the Hanlontown City Council. Sorenson attended Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, where he studied mechanical engineering and metallurgy, was the founding treasurer of the Society of Automotive Engineers chapter on campus, and a member and house manager of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
