OSAGE – A convicted sex offender is facing charges after an investigation conducted by the Osage police department.
Further investigation and interviews pertaining to an assault that occurred on June 10th led officers to charge Dewayne Alan Bethke, age 48 of Osage, with failure to comply with exclusion zone-sex offender registry, a class C felony.
On June 11th, 2014, a subject reported a burglary of several items from their residence that were then recovered at 314 Oak Street. Investigation by the officers resulted in charging Bethke with Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.
Bethke continues to be held at the Mitchell County Jail on a now $13,000 bond (cash in defendant’s name only) on all 3 charges.
Bethke is a convicted sex offender. He was convicted in 2001 on charges from Mitchell and Floyd counties for offenses against a female child 13 years of age or younger.
