OSAGE – The Osage Iowa Police Department reported that they investigated an assault Tuesday and arrested a man.
On June 10th at approximately 11:30a.m. Osage Police Department officers were dispatched to the Harry Cook Nature Trail with a report of a physical assault. Upon arrival and investigation Dewayne Alan Bethke, 48 years old of Osage was arrested and charged with Serious Assault. The victim received minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The Osage Police Department was assisted by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said they believe this is an isolated incident, but encouraged all those that use the trail to keep a cell phone on them at all times, to be aware of their surroundings and have a friend along if possible.
