WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steve King released the following statement after the third time Democrat New York Senator Chuck Schumer took to the Senate Floor to attack King on immigration:
“There he goes again,” said King. “Senator Schumer is continuing his attempt to taunt Speaker Boehner and Leadership into bringing his Senate Gang of Eight’s amnesty agenda to the floor of the House. This is the third time Schumer has read from a script on the Senate Floor giving me the credit for leading on immigration in the House but at the same time claiming that I am doing nothing.
Well, just last week two of my immigration amendments passed with a strong majority and bi-partisan vote in the House. These amendments addressed the extreme lack of enforcement for the Rule of Law. I want to see the Rule of Law restored and upheld and I will work every day to make this happen.
Senator Schumer – why won’t you debate me on immigration? Is it because your position is indefensible?”
