NORA SPRINGS – A Nora Springs man who pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual abuse of a minor has been sentenced in Floyd County District Court to 25 years in prison.
The Nora Springs Police Department had brought four counts of felony B second-degree sexual abuse and four counts of felony C third-degree sexual abuse against 70-year-old Ronald Calvert. The abuse allegedly began in 2006.
On Monday, May 5, Judge Dedra Schoreder imposed the 25 year sentence on Calvert and required him to register as a sex offender.
Calvert originally pleaded not guilty to all the charges and fought expanded media coverage of his trial.
