One Iowa man dead after train-car collision

logo-iowa-state-patrolEARLVILLE, IOWA – An Iowa man is dead after a train collided with his car Monday morning.

According to a report, 36-year-old Jose Moncada-Nava of Dyersville was driving his 2003 Nissan Altima south on Northwest Street in Earlville as a train approached a railroad crossing, traveling east. The train struck Moncada-Nava’s car on the passenger side and continued traveling east on the tracks for another 50 feet.

Moncada-Nava was transported by ambulance to a Manchester, Iowa hospital and was later pronounced dead.
