MASON CITY – Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in apprehending a local man who allegedly was drunk and eluding police late Saturday night.
According to a report, Jordan Jerome Holmes, age 23, was caught by police near his home at the 400 block of North Jefferson Avenue after the Iowa State Patrol, Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputies and Mason City police officers sought him.
No specifics of the pursuit were released as of Sunday morning, but police said Holmes was “uncooperative” at the time of his arrest. He was charged with operating under the influence, failure to use headlamps when required, interference with official acts, failure to maintain control, eluding law enforcement, assault on a peace officer, and driving while suspended.
Homes was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at about 2 AM and held on $5,000 cash/surety bond.
Just last month, Holmes was involved with an incident where a woman stole her friend’s car. Holmes was in the car and charged with theft after allegedly helping rifle through the victim’s purse and other belongings. Charges of drug possession and open container were thrown out by Judge Karen Salic. Holmes later plead guilty to fifth degree theft. He owes $185.00 in court costs and fees from that case.
Also in November, Holmes plead guilty to assault on a peace officer and received a find and 2 weeks in jail. He owes $654.25 in fines and court costs related to that incident.
