MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Compensation Board met on December 18th and approved a recommendation for raises for elected county officials.
At the meeting, chairman of the board Tom Jolas put forth a recommendation for 2 per cent raises for elected officials on July 15th, 2014 and January 1, 2015. “Cerro Gordo county benefits from professional and highly capable elected officials,” Jolas wrote in a memo. “By splitting the increases, the net cost to the county is 3 per cent for the fiscal year.”
The Board of Supervisors will review the recommendation and vote on the final outcome at a later date.
Cerro Gordo county is the Iowa’s 13th largest county in population. Elected officials’ pay in Cerro Gordo county for 2014, with the state rank, is shown below :

Jolas was involved in Southbridge Mall and made a fortune off it. Then he lost it because he was greedy. Then he did the same thing with Indianhead. His first wife really got into him when she caught him cheating. Then he tried his damnedest to stick it to us again with the fairgrounds sale a couple of years back. That one didn’t go through.
Tired of seeing old Tom Jolas in government. He stole peoples property through eminent domain and gave it to Shopko.
