MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Compensation Board met on December 18th and approved a recommendation for raises for elected county officials.
At the meeting, chairman of the board Tom Jolas put forth a recommendation for 2 per cent raises for elected officials on July 15th, 2014 and January 1, 2015. “Cerro Gordo county benefits from professional and highly capable elected officials,” Jolas wrote in a memo. “By splitting the increases, the net cost to the county is 3 per cent for the fiscal year.”
The Board of Supervisors will review the recommendation and vote on the final outcome at a later date.
Cerro Gordo county is the Iowa’s 13th largest county in population. Elected officials’ pay in Cerro Gordo county for 2014, with the state rank, is shown below :
