MASON CITY, Iowa – Dec. 11, 2012 – Sewer line repair work requires closing the westbound lanes of Iowa 122, as well as the Iowa 122/South Virginia Avenue intersection in Mason City, from 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, through Wednesday, Dec. 19, weather permitting, according the Iowa DOT’s District 2 Office in Mason City.
Westbound Iowa 22 traffic will be routed around the construction zone by traveling south on South Kentucky Avenue, west on 19th Street Southeast, and then north on U.S. 65.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
