Convicted thief arrested for assault Saturday

MASON CITY – A Mason City man was arrested late Saturday morning for an assault.

Travis Benjamin Roberts, 28, was apprehended at about 11:30 AM in an apartment in the 300 block of 1st Street SW for allegedly violating two no-contact orders and for committing a serious domestic assault.

Roberts was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 1:04 PM and remains there waiting to see a judge.

According to Iowa courts records, Roberts also faces a third degree theft charge issued on May 23rd, 2012 by the Mason City Police Department.  He will have a hearing before a judge on August 15, 2012 on that matter.  Roberts also faces a fourth degree theft charge, also issued by the MCPD, on May 8th, 2012, and will go before the judge the same day for that charge.

Roberts is also awaiting a court date on a serious domestic assault charge from June of this year.  He has retained Mason City attorney Joseph LaPointe in his defense of that charge.

Also on his criminal record are public intox from 2003 and 2006, fifth degree theft from 2004, fourth degree theft from 2007, unlawfully consuming alcohol in 2004, theft in the second degree in 2009, forgery in 2009, assault causing bodily injury in 2007, and fourth degree theft again in 2008.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Dude, save a tree, your rap sheet is longer then the tail of a wedding dress. You sure have a career, just chose a bad one. I am just wondering, do you like being in trouble all the time, did your mother treat you bad as a child? Why not become a useful member of society instead of a “f”ing looser?
