CLEAR LAKE – Much of North Iowa is under a flash flood warning at this time.
Heavy rains over the past several days have caused river levels to rise, and standing water has been reported on some roadways. The warnings end in the early afternoon, mostly, and the watches continue throughout the day.
Some roadways in Mason City were reported as impassable. On South Federal Avenue near 10th Street, the underpass had at least 2-3 feet of standing water on the road, but cleared away soon thereafter. At least one entrance to East Park remains closed due to flooding.
The forecast calls for rain over the next several days.
