From Ken Sagar, President Iowa Federation of Labor –
Today the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. This is a victory for seniors, their children and their grand children.
There are politicians that want to repeal this law and this decision will not change their view. We cannot allow them to take America backwards, but that is what Mitt Romney and the Republican leadership intends to do. They want to take us back to a world with denied care, pre-existing conditions, and a ‘you’re on your own’ health care system.
We encourage the Republicans to respect the court’s decision and stop wasting the public’s time and money with political grand standing. After all, this a nearly identical plan as the one Gov. Romney signed into law.
Though this may feel like a victory, the fight for affordable health care for all is far from over. The election this November will be between a President who has stood for fairness for the working men and women, and Gov. Romney who has said he will repeal this law in his first few days’ office.
This is a fair and just law, and we need to defend, protect and expand this law.
Why doesn’t the press call these guys out for all the waivers they receive? Why????? They give them a forum and let them spew stuff like propaganda and then forget to ask them important questions???? That’s why people don’t trust media, it’s a farce.
Who is going to pay the healthcare of your union members who you have talked into giving up their jobs?
I believe that I read somewhere that the Union’s have applied for and recieved a waiver to not implement Obamacare because of the costs. This guy speaks out of both sides of his mouth and is typical of these thugs (Obama administration included). They could care less about the common person. If they did they would listen to the 68% of the people who do not want this farce.

As long as people realize that the affordable care act is going to be paid for with our tax dollars, which means not only that our taxes will go up, but also tax money that is meant for other projects will be siphoned off for the care act, leaving these other projects hurting for funding. Why these people didn’t plan for their older years and not engage in a lifestyle that could have gone into a planned savings, I’ll never know. And before anyone starts throwing out excuses, remember, people don’t a computer, or the latest cell phone, or a car they can’t afford. There’s a phrase out there, remember? “Live within your means.” And why these liberals can’t understand that people really are responsible for their own actions, I’ll never be able to understand.
