IOWA CITY, Iowa – The No. 2 Oklahoma State wrestling team ended No. 1 Iowa’s 84-dual unbeaten streak in spectacular fashion 17-16 Saturday night in front of a raucous crowd of 15,400 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The score after 10 bouts was 16-16, but OSU earned the victory based off tie-break criteria, which in this case was total points scored in the dual, where the OSU held a 54-49 advantage.
Had Iowa won the match, it would have broken OSU’s NCAA record of 84 straight duals without a loss set from 1959-1966.
