Alleged burglar back in the can

MASON CITY – A Mason City man charged earlier this summer with burglary has landed back in jail.

David Lynn Lunde, 49, of 310 19th Street SE, was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on Tuesday at 2:18 pm for a violation of pre-trial release.

Lunde was arrested on the afternoon of July 12, 2011 in connection with an incident where a Mason City police officer was checking a vacant property located at 3008 N. Carolina.

Near the property, someone had recently parked an unfamiliar vehicle. The officer located two subjects inside the building. After further investigation, it was determined the two subjects had committed serious damage to the building in an attempt to remove copper wiring and tubing. They did not have permission from the owner to be in the building.

Lunde, along with Donald Eugene Abendroth, 51, of 807 N. Adams, Mason City was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, a class “D” felony and possession of burglary tools, an aggravated misdemeanor.
