Counterfeit money arrest made by MCPD

MASON CITY – On Thursday, May 12 at approximately 11:24 a.m., a subject ordered food from a local business and asked that it be delivered to a residence. The business delivered the food to the local address where a female subject paid for the food with a $20 and a $5 dollar bill. The employee left and realized the money looked fraudulent. The business then reported it to the Mason City Police Department.

Police went to the residence and identified the female who paid with the fake money. After a brief investigation, officers arrested the female for forgery (class D felony). The female is Krystal Rae Anderson, 26 years old, of Mason City, Iowa. She was released to the county jail.
