Friends of the 457, the volunteer group dedicated to the preservation of the 457 steam locomotive located in East Park, are hosting a Volunteer Rally on Saturday, April 30 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The rally will take place near the site of the train.
The purpose of the rally is for guests to learn how important volunteers are to the preservation project and to encourage support from individuals to help fill the need for several volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer opportunities vary and include tour guides, sales depot clerks, event organizers, metal workers, welders, and grounds keepers. Training will be provided where necessary.
Coffee and rolls will be served. Please stop by to find out what has been accomplished and what is left to be done in order to continue with the preservation project.
