MASON CITY – This convicted Waterloo crack dealer migrated to Mason City and carried out a series of violent attacks, and now authorities appear to be seeking her on an arrest warrant.

NIT previously reported that 48-year-old Lakisha Latione Phillips is a former resident of Waterloo, Iowa. Police in that notable community nabbed her back in 2005 for possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver. Phillips eventually made her way to Mason City, and once here, she piled up arrests for stealing, driving while barred and domestic violence.  NIT did report that On October 28, 2024, Phillips stole a $35 vaping device from MidTown Liquor and Vape. she was later guilty and given one day in jail and ordered to pay Iowa courts $60.

Her latest attack, police tell NIT, was on December 29, 2024. At 11:55 AM that day, a person reported two different domestic abuse assaults by Lakisha Phillips. Once occurred on December 28 and the second occurred early on December 29, 2024. As a result of these incidents, arrest warrants were applied for reference the following charges:

  • Felony domestic strangulation, for the assault on the morning of the December 29, 2024

  • Aggravated domestic assault, for the incident on December 28, 2024 (due to a previous conviction for simple domestic in Mason City that happened on August 3, 2024)

  • Obstruction of 911 Communication

Later, at 7:53 PM on December 29, 2024, the reporting party called police to say Phillips was back and trying to get inside the victim’s residence. Police responded and arrested Phillips at the Mason City house.

By January of 2025, Phillips had taken a lenient plea deal and avoided a felony conviction. She was guilty of second-offense domestic abuse and given a year of probation, 365 days in jail with 361 suspended, and a bill owed to Iowa courts for $1,144.25. Within weeks, Phillips was accused of violating her probation, and a warrant for her arrest was issued by a judge. She appears to still be sought on the warrant to face a judge for violating her probation.
