DELAND, FLORIDA – The University of Iowa baseball shutout Stetson, 7-0, on Saturday night at Melching Field at Conrad Park.

Iowa limited the Hatters to three hits while the Hawkeye bats notched 10.

Aaron Savary made his second start of the season and earned his second win. He threw 5 1/3 innings allowing just one hit while striking out six and walking six.

Ganon Archer relieved Savary and threw 1 1/3 innings tallying a strikeout and two walks. Chas Wheatley threw 1/3 of an inning before Daniel Wright closed out the final 1 1/3 innings striking out 1.

Offensively, Daniel Rogers led the Hawkeyes with three RBIs. Jackson Beaman went 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs including a 409-foot home run to center in the ninth. Gable Mitchell and Miles Risley each plated an RBI for the Hawkeyes

An RBI groundout in the third for Rogers was what started the Hawkeyes run scoring for the night. Risley and Beaman each added singles with the bases loaded in the fifth to make it 3-0, before Mitchell added one and Rogers plated two in the sixth. Beaman added the exclamation point with the solo shot in the bottom of the ninth.
