Timothy Jay Evans passed away on February 11, 2025, at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale AZ. After a brief battle with cancer. A graveside service with military rites will be held at the Alden Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the Dillon Christmas Tree Farm in Alden, Iowa, on April 12. Times to be announced. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
Tim was born April 11, 1961, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the youngest son of Merl and Margery Jean (Mulquin) Evans. He moved to Colorado in 1979, where he joined the Army in 1980. He met his wife, Sharon Ann Walter, in Fort Collins Colorado. They were married on August 19, 1984, at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland Colorado.
They family moved back to Illinois in 1989, where he worked for Ameren CIPS. In 2011, he started working for Henning Companies. This brought him to Iowa where they made their forever home. He loved working for Henning and traveling to different states and meeting new friends.
He was truly one of a kind with such a big heart, he touched the lives of everyone he met. Always the giver. He knew no strangers. He spoiled every kid he met. His favorite “holiday” was Halloween where he would cookout hotdogs for all the trick or treaters that would stop by. A tradition that will continue per his request. He was known for his “Timmyisms”, saying those one liners right till the end! Whenever he would call someone, he always said, “Who’s your buddy who’s your pal?”. He also loved fishing and hunting along with his Brittany Spaniels, Britt and Bayley.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, two sons, Jared Michael (Catherine), Ryan Clifford(Mallory), 5 brothers; Pat (Susie), Dennis (Diana), David (Jilda), Donnie (Rhonda), and Albert Evans. Two sisters; Teresa (deceased husband Steve) Murdock, Cathy (Donnie) Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son Jay Walter Evans, three siblings: Margery, Michael (surviving wife Linda), Merle (surviving wife Sandy).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Friends of Popejoy Park at the United Bank & Trust in Alden. Tim was very passionate about and proud to be part of organizing the opening of this park again.
