John Jr. Bollinger, the son of George and Ida (Klinge) Bollinger, was born on May 19, 1933, in Fenton, Iowa. He died on January 18, 2025, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa at the age of 91.
John attended Fenton Schools. He later enlisted in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged in 1956, he continued farming in the Fenton Area. John married Georgia Marlow on March 27, 1966, and to this union two sons were born, Jon and Jim.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fenton. John truly enjoyed farming. Helping Jacob and Jim brought him great joy. Over the course of John’s life and farming career, he saw the evolution of farm technology. From horse drawn equipment to autosteer, John has used it all.
Left to cherish John’s memory are two sons, Jon Bollinger and his wife, Dawn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jim Bollinger and his wife, Penny of Fenton; four grandchildren, Lydia, Jacob, Jordan and Jenna Bollinger.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, parents, George and Ida (Klinge) Bollinger, and his siblings, Lois (Don) Gurber, Doris Hilsabeck, Bessie (Willis) Wookwick and Lloyd (Nancy) Bollinger.
