Lucille “Peggy” Murray, 89, of Iowa Falls, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. She will be laid to rest with a private family burial. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Peggy and her family.

Lucille “Peggy” Murray was born March 8th, 1935 to William James Weber and Beulah Marie Forbes Weber. She passed away on Friday January 3rd, 2025 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old.

In January of 1952, she married Larry Gene Hesseltine and to this union three daughters were born. They were married for 16 years until their divorce.

On October 25th, 1969 Peggy married David Lee Murray and they gave birth to two sons. Peggy and David remained married until her death.

From 1972 to 1995, she worked as a CNA at Ellsworth Hospital in lowa Falls. She was a member of The First Congregational Church of lowa Falls. She was also a member of the lowa Falls Moose Lodge, which is where Peggy met Dave. They spent a lot of time at the Moose where they both enjoyed dancing together.

Peggy was a die-hard Hawkeye fan and rarely missed a Football or Basketball game. Like most of the country, she fell in love with Caitlyn Clark and always watched her games when they were on TV.

Peggy is survived by her husband, David Murray of lowa Falls, two sisters, Coleen (Ron) Cox of Oxford, Darlene (Steve) Cerny of Riverside and a brother, Terry Boyd of Lone Tree. She is survived by her children, Denise (Bruce) Stahl of Steamboat Rock, Sheree (Tim) Silvey of lowa Falls, Lorrie (Randy) Watts of lowa Falls, Scott (Michelle) Murray of Hampton and Brett Murray of Geneva; six grandchildren, Nathan (Michelle) Stahl of Grundy Center, Aarron (Jen) Stahl of Steamboat Rock, Lacee (Donald) McLaren of Fort Dodge, Hollee (Spencer) Herzberg of Boone, Calli (Peyton) Williams of Waterloo and Michael (Katie) Watts of lowa Falls along with 14 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Donald Robert Boyd; two brothers, Kenneth Weber and Dallas Boyd and son in law, Bruce Stahl.

The family is planning a celebration of life for Peggy in the summer of 2025 because she really disliked winter.
