GUTTENBERG, IOWA – One man is dead and another injured in a two-car accident Thursday evening in Eastern Iowa.
According to a report, a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by 21 tear-old Lee Smith of Garnivillo, Iowa was eastbound on MillVille Road near Guttenburg, Iowa when Smith allegedly pulled into the path of 62 year-old Craig Jones of West Liberty, Iowa.
Jones attempted to avoid collision and swerved left, but still struck Smith’s vehicle. Jones’ vehicle caught fire after the collision and came to rest in the northbound ditch.
Smith was later declared deceased, while Jones was injured and taken to a Guttenburg hospital.
