According to the Iowa State Patrol, a bull elk was discovered near Council Bluffs, 8 mile-marker on I-80 in Pottawatamie county, likely the result of a vehicular collision.

The Iowa State Patrol gave a reminder, “to always remain vigilant while driving! Stay safe!”

Bull elk can weigh up to or sometimes more than 600 lbs. and cause major damage to a striking vehicle.
