Carol Louise was born February 14, 1932 in Audubon, MN the daughter of Oscar and Lydia (Anderson) Olson. She graduated from Clarion High School and on April 23, 1952 married the love of her life, Duane “Tuffy” Rohrer and the couple soon moved to Mason City. They were blessed with five children: Mike, Mickey, Lori, Mona and Lynn. Carol worked at local banks including First National Bank in Clarion, US Bank and Mutual Federal Savings and Loans in Mason City. She enjoyed connecting with people.

Carol was a steadfast pillar of faith and dedication within the community, her unwavering commitment leaving marks on the hearts of many. A member of Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, she embodied the essence of service through her involvement in the Catholic Daughters and the Christian Women’s Club. Her spirit of generosity knew no bounds as she poured countless hours into the Hot Lunch Program for St. Joseph’s and the Community Kitchen. Alongside her husband, Duane, they managed the Knights of Columbus in the late 80s. She also supported Tuffy in the start up and maintenance of the Knights of Columbus Little League Baseball program. Despite her busy schedule, Carol always found solace and inspiration in her bible study group, cherishing the moments shared with her closest friends. Her tireless efforts and unwavering devotion serve as a testament to the profound impact one individual can make through faith, dedication, and hard work. But, most of all, Carol loved her family. Annual family fishing trips and time spent watching her grandchildren grow was cherished. She was known to catch the first fish of the day. Adorned with pins, hats and t-shirts she and Duane could be heard supporting their kids and grandkids from the stands at their sporting events.

Surviving are her children, Mike (Traci) Rohrer of Mason City, Mickey (Bob) Roderick of Mason City, Lori (Tom) Wynn of Naples, FL, Mona (Mitch) Hoy of Mason City and Lynn Reiners of Orono, MN; grandchildren, Sara Rohrer Cox, Erin Sanderson, Breanna Johnson, Rachel Lange, Jeri Sberal, Jake Roderick, Katie Roderick, Kari Roderick, Kelli Davis, Roger Carlson, Amy Hogg, Rhea Anderson, Ryan Mix, Taylor Ott, Anisa Hoy, Justina Abimanyu, Jordan Hoy, Tanner Hoy, Sydney Reiners, Grace Reiners and Justus Reiners; 35 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; as well as numerous extended family members and cherished friends.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Duane; parents; sisters, Donna, Judy, and Virginia; and brothers, Glen and Richard.

Carol’s family would like to thank the IOOF Home and MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, both of Mason City, for their wonderful care and love shown to her.
