AMES – It appears that the Iowa State Cyclones will be losing their Offensive Coordinator, Nate Scheelhaase, to the LA Rams.

According to reports, the development hasn’t been officially announced by Iowa State, nor the Rams, but the deal is done.

Scheelhaase (pictured at top), 33, is a former quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He joined Matt Campbell’s staff in 2018 as the running backs coach and has steadily advanced in the system. Then, in 2022, Iowa State named Scheelhaase as their offensive coordinator.

Iowa State is probably already searching for a replacement as the Spring Game is up next on the horizon in April. Teams are busy recruiting and training for the next season, so this development will be a challenge for the Cyclones.

Iowa State has had a number of receivers and backs enter the NFL with marked success in recent years, including Brock Purdy, Breece Hall, Allen Lazard, Charlie Kolar, and others.
