Mark Douglas Kazmerzak, son of Larry and Frances Janice (McNamara) Kazmerzak was born on December 5, 1955 in Lake Preston, South Dakota. He passed away at his home in Estherville, Iowa on January 10, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
Mark attended elementary school in South Dakota. The family moved to Red Oak, Iowa and he graduated from Red Oak High School. Following high school, he obtained his plumbing license. Mark was united in marriage to Lisa Smith, the couple had three sons: Travis, Seth, and Joel. They moved to Estherville, Iowa in the mid 80’s. The marriage was later dissolved.
Mark worked as a plumber for Lakes Plumbing and Heating for numerous years. In his free time he enjoyed “doodlin” at the lake with his dog Max, hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids, and teaching them how to complete any of the home projects they started. He was a true handy man. He was also a family man who would take the shirt off his back for anyone who needed it.
Mark is survived by his sons Travis (Maranda Rohrbaugh) Kazmerzak and Joel (Brianna) Kazmerzak, his parents Larry and Janice Kazmerzak, and grandchildren Rayna, Lincoln, Nicholas, and Layla Kazmerzak and Isabelle Heisler. He is also survived by his siblings Tom (April Hemmes) Kazmerzak, Mary (John) Vihstadt, Richard (Deb) Kazmerzak, Paul (Maria) Kazmerzak, Jim (Jackie) Kazmerzak, Lisa (Dan) Winn, John Kazmerzak, and Karen Kazmerzak. He will also be remembered by his significant other Dawn Ukasick, her children Tyler (Shae Larsen) Ukasick and Travis (Tiffany) Ukasick, and grandchildren Andrew, Kinsley, Everley, Haisley Ukasick.
Mark is preceded in death by his son Seth Kazmerzak.
