RURAL MASON CITY - A Mason City man endured pain after a vehicle he was riding in smashed into a deer.

RURAL MASON CITY – A Mason City man endured pain after a vehicle he was riding in smashed into a deer.

The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says that on October 14th, at around 11:14 PM, the deputies responded to a car versus deer collision that occurred in the 11000 block of 255th Street. A 2014 Ford F-150 drive by 39-year-old Yanira Mejia of Hampton, Iowa, was traveling east on 255th Street when a deer came onto the roadway. There was no avoiding the deer and a collision occurred. As a result of the collision, the passenger of the vehicle, 41-year-old Javier Castorena of Mason City had a complaint of pain. Castorena refused medical treatment.
