MASON CITY – The David Nurse Basketball Camp will be held in the NIACC gym on July 15-16.
The camp run by Nurse, who is an NBA skills coach, is available to all boys and girls entering grades 4-12. The camp for athletes entering grades 4-8 will run from 10 a.m. to noon and the camp for boys and girls entering grades 9-12 will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
The cost for the camp is $100 per person.
Nurse is regarded as one of the top NBA Development and Life Coaches. He has worked with over 150 NBA players helping them develop their skills, mindset, and overall total optmization.
Some of Nurse’s clients include Jeremy Lin, Kelly Olynyk, Domantas Sabonis, Norman Powell, Rondae Hollis Jefferson, Rui Hachimura, Shai Alexander, OG Anunoby and Bismack Biyombo.
Nurse is the world record holder for 3-point shots made in one minute.
Nurse’s coaching mentors include Nick Nurse, Erik Spoelstra, Brad Stevens and Ron Adams.
He has trained over 150 NBA players on court, along with being a mentor and a life coach to these players Brooklyn Nets shooting coach in 2015-16. During this time, Nurse helped the Nets go from 3rd lowest in 3-point percentage (32.6) to first in the NBA (40.7).
The camp is a fundraiser for the NIACC women’s basketball program.
