IOWA CITY – Iowa defeated Rutger, 90-84, in a hard-fought home Big Ten Conference game Thursday.
The Hawkeyes (6-1, 2-1) expanded their home-winning streak to 41-consecutive wins, ranking second in the country behind Baylor (61).
Five Hawkeyes scored in double figures, including freshman Caitlin Clark (28), sophomore McKenna Warnock (18), junior Monika Czinano (17), redshirt sophomore Kate Martin (12), and sophomore Gabbie Marshall (10).
Warnock knocked down five 3-pointers to set a new career best and Martin’s 10 points is a career-high.
Up next, Iowa heads to Champaign, Illinois, to take on the Illini inside State Farm Center on Sunday, Jan. 3. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. (CT), and the game will be streamed on BTN Plus.
