CEDAR RAPIDS – A two-year-old child was accidentally shot at a mall in Cedar Rapids Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids around 1:39 PM Friday, November 6, 2020, for a call that went out as a shooting. Preliminary investigation indicated to police that there was an accidental discharge of a firearm that struck a child – a two-year-old boy. Police discovered the injury was to the child’s forearm and was not life threatening. The individual that had possession of the firearm and the child are related.
Police remained on scene and continued to investigate the incident.
