WAVERLY – A Mason City woman is facing a felony theft charge.
An arrest warrant was issued on February 28, 2020, in Bremer county, Iowa by the Bremer county sheriff’s office for 26-year-old Courtney Renee Vermeer of Mason City on a charge of first-degree theft. She was arrested by Mason City police on April 18, 2020, on the warrant and handed over to Bremer county authorities. Vermeer quickly posted $5,000 cash bond and was released from custody.
On May 15, Vermeer entered a plea of not guilty to the charge. She remains free and awaits further court proceedings.
