College Football: UNI adds pair of Kansas transfers

CEDAR FALLS – UNI Football this week announced the additions of University of Kansas Transfers Dom Williams and Quan Hampton.

Williams comes to UNI as a running back and will be a redshirt junior after playing only four games last year at Kansas. He has 441 yards and three touchdowns for his career at Kansas. He played in 18 games during his Kansas career and had a career-high 231 yards during his sophomore year which was shortened by injury.

He is a two-year Big 12 Commission’s Honor Roll Honoree and a two-year Athletic Director’s Honor Roll member.

He was a four-star recruit out of high school and was ranked the 17th-best running back in the country by Rivals.com. He finished his prep career ranked 10th all-time on the Texas high school rushing list. He was Texas Class 5A First Team All-State after running for 28 touchdowns and 1,922 yards on just 184 carries. He was a four-time First Team All-District running back and a three-time First Team All-State running back.

His father, Damien, played football at Cal.

Hampton joins his Kansas teammate and fellow Lone Star State product. He will also be a redshirt junior. During his career, he racked up 221 yards on 28 receptions. His best season was his freshman year when he started six games and grabbed 21 receptions and 145 yards. He Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Tea honors and is a three-year Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll Member.

Hampton set school records in receptions, receiving yards and receptions in a single game. Was a two-time All-District player and was the 2016 District 16 Offensive MVP. He was also an All-District Honoree in Basketball.

The duo joins 18 other signees to bring the 2020 signing class to 20. UNI Football opens spring practice on Wednesday, March 25.
