Juvenile injured after pcikup leaves road and crashes into trees on lonely Northern Iowa roadway

FAYETTE COUNTY — A juvenile driver was injured after losing control of a pickup and striking trees in a ditch in Fayette County.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a motor vehicle accident at approximately 3:37 p.m. on January 6, 2026, near the intersection of Harding Road and Diamond Road.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that a juvenile male was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado K2500 eastbound on Harding Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck two trees in the ditch.

The juvenile sustained injuries and was transported by EMS to a local hospital.

Authorities said the pickup was considered a total loss.

The juvenile was cited for Reckless Driving and Failure to Maintain Control.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Clermont Fire Department, Clermont EMS and Torkelson Auto.
