Iowa prison inmate dies of apparent suicide, officials say

ANAMOSA, IOWA – An Iowa prison inmate died of apparent suicide, officials say.

Calvin Pearson was pronounced dead due to apparent suicide at 8:03 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Jones Regional Medical Center where he had been taken. Pearson was 52 years old at the time of his death.

Pearson had been incarcerated at the Anamosa State Penitentiary for two convictions of Robbery- 2nd Degree (711.3) from Johnson County. His incarceration began on November 2, 2010.

The department conducts an investigation into all inmate suicides, and an autopsy will be conducted.

Yea one needs to be done cause this man would have never done this he was always happy. Something smells and the warden and his staff need to be investigated. And why did he pass away did he take something that should have never been in his hands or what?? Yea nothing should be swept under the rug as most of there stuff does.
