Mason City police warn residents of suspicious activity after fake social worker tries to get into house

MCPD

MASON CITY – What appears to be a fake social worker tried to get into a person’s house Monday morning in Mason City, police say.

The Mason City Police Department received a call at 10:08 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, to a residence in the 2800 block of 16th Street SW. The caller reported that a female had come to the door of the residence, identified herself an employee with Child Protection Services, and said she was checking on a report of unattended children.

Officers responded and investigated the incident. The vehicle was gone from the area and the reporting party provided the following description: gold four door sedan with dark windows. It was occupied by two white males and a heavy set white female with long dark hair.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or its occupants is asked to call the Mason City Police Department, 641-421-3636. At this point, officers are unable to determine the intent of the vehicle occupants. There is no indication at this time that it is related to human trafficking.

On Monday, MCPD was also alerted about a Facebook post about an incident that occurred on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at WalMart at approximately 3 p.m. This post alleges that two women were followed by several Latino males. Mason City police department did not respond to a call for service at WalMart during that time.

Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley
“At the time of this writing, we are unable to corroborate any of the information contained in the post. We are continuing to try to follow-up on this incident,” Chief Jeff Brinkley says.

“We want to take this opportunity, again, to remind residents that when they see or experience suspicious or unusual behavior that they should report it – as it is happening. It can be difficult and more time-intensive to investigate incidents like this after the fact. In many cases, officers can respond to these incidents when they are occurring, speak to the people involved, and resolve the incident at that time. When you see suspicious activity, report it by calling 641-421-3636.”

You sure love posting about illegal immigrants. Not everyone that comes here illegally or get’s deported is bad. My best friend in this world was deported… His parent’s brought him here when he was 3, he’d never been to Mexico after that. This shit is a tragedy for some, but man you seem to love it considering 50% of the front page of NIT is about illegal immigrants.

I don’t know what you think you are reading but there is nothing in this article about illegal’s. Are you just making excuses like all liberals do?
