MASON CITY – The Mason City School Board will meet Monday evening, December 18 at 5:30 PM in the Board Room of the School Administration Building and consider the continuation of two tax levies on city property owners.

The school board will begin to consider the continuation of the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and the Instructional Support Levy (ISL).  The board will have other meetings to make a final determination on whether these two levies will be pursued or not via an election.  Both tax levies were put into effect back in 2013 and are good for 5 years. Taxes on a $100,000 home raised an average of over $42.00 a year as a result of approval of the levies by voters on September 10, 2013.

An election could be held as early as April 3, 2018, the school agenda shows.
