MASON CITY – A Klemme man was sentenced to prison Monday for theft and meth dealing crimes.
Jacob Ganseveld, age 25 of Klemme, was sentenced to a 10-year prison term for meth possession with intent to deliver and a pair of 5-year-prison terms for two counts of felony second-degree theft for crimes that took place in May of 2016.
All the charges were brought by the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s department. The meth dealing crime took place on October 10, 2016 when he was stopped in Mason City by a Cerro Gordo deputyat 14th Street SE and Delaware Avenue. He was found to be in possession of meth and other paraphernalia. The passenger in his car, 26-year-old Bethany Karnes of Indianola, was also charged with a range of drug crimes. She was sentenced last month to 365 days in jail with all but 60 suspended for first-offense possession of meth.
Also this month, in Hancock county, Ganseveld was sentenced to another 5-year prison term for felony third-degree burglary.
Ganseveld remains in the Cerro Gordo jail, awaiting transport to prison.
