MASON CITY – A Mason City man argued over a debt and allegedly assaulted a person, leading to his arrest and a hospital visit for his victim.
On December 14, 2016, 41-year-old Craig Allen Lewis Pearce allegedly assaulted another subject at 1008 1st Street NW. The fight involved an argument over money owed. Pearce was accused of causing bodily injury to the victim who did go to Mercy Hospital to be examined. Pearce was arrested that same evening for serious assault causing bodily injury.
Pearce soon entered a guilty plea to simple assault, however. He was given a 7-day jail sentence and was ordered to pay $100.00 in court costs.
