RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNY – A stopped car with hazard lights flashing led to the arrest of an Eastern Iowa man for drunk driving.
On October 30 at about 1:45 AM, a Cerro Gordo county deputy came upon a vehicle along the shoulder of the roadway at 300th Street and Interstate 35. The vehicle had its hazard lights on. The deputy stopped to check on the welfare of the subjects in the vehicle. After an investigation, the driver, 39-year-old Christopher Wayne Arthur of Coralville was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Arthur was taken to the Cerro Gordo jail, booked and held. He posted $1,000 bond and was released. Attorney Joel Yunek appeared in court for him several days later, and a preliminary hearing was waived. Arthur is due in court November 18.
