Woman accused of falsely claiming prize at Northwood casino says she’s not guilty

NORTHWOOD – A North Iowa woman accused of falsely claiming a prize at a Northwood casino says she is not guilty.

Carol Ann Flores, age 29, is facing a felony charge of gambling – false claim of winnings. This is in connection to an alleged incident at the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood back in July of 2015. The Department of Criminal Investigations formally brought the charge in September of last year, leading to an arrest warrant.

Flores remained free until her arrest by Mason City police in April. Mason City police were called about a complaint of a disturbance on the afternoon of April 19. Officers responded to kids throwing water balloons at cars near Georgia Avenue and 1st Street NE. As an officer spoke with a woman at the scene about the complaint, it was determined that she was Flores and was wanted in Worth county.

Flores was able to post bond in May and was released from jail.  She entered a not-guilty plea and a July trial was set, but then postponed by her public defender. No new trial date has been set.

Facts usually are swept under the rug whenever a person is falsely accused of any crime, especially if that person happens to have a last name which is known in the community! The media plays a huge part in getting these peoples names out and the crimes which they are charged with! Rarely, or maybe never does the media print anything in regards to the persons innocence when the charges against that person are dismissed! So it’s only expected to read idiotic comments posted by idiotic persons, especially when printed by idiotic reporters! It’s no wonder we live in a society full of drugs and crime! Maybe you guys should consider writing about what’s good in our society instead making it “what’s wrong!”

You I can say what you want you wasn’t there you don’t know what happened

felix and val sr. contributed to the downfall of the name very much

That whole family is into trouble all the time. Now she is hot but a life a crime is not! No one wants a woman who can’t get her act together. At least not to take home but only to have fun with. Carol, call me! Sorry NOT!

Calling someone Flores is not racist. Mexican, Latin is not a race!

She is a Flores. She is guilty.

If you saw her family tree, you’d agree too.

T: just what does being racist have to do with a last name? It’s stero- typing people. If you had the last name MANSON and were from the same town as Charles people would be thinking you were connected to him. Some names just have trouble behind it. No harm no foul.

Judging her last name is being racists

Yeah right.
The last name and “not guilty” Don’t generally go in the same sentence.

uhmmmmm what is the last name???? more to follow
