MASON CITY – Infighting amongst a group of Mason City teens flared in two separate but related recent incidents, culminating in two shot with a BB gun.

Mason City police tell NIT that the trouble started back on February 1. Late that night, at 10:37 PM, a person reported that the rear car window of their vehicle was broken by another teen at the Ray Rorick Skate Park near Big Blue. Officers arrived at the skate park and found several cars and young adults there. The reporting party had several young people in her vehicle also. She told police that as she neared Big Blue, people in another vehicle “flipped her car off”. She drove after the vehicle and followed it into the skate park. The cars drove up to where other cars and youth were waiting. Many of the kids started exchanging words.

It was at this point, allegedly, that 18-year-old Alex Meier of Mason City, intentionally struck the rear window of the reporting party’s vehicle with his skateboard, shattering the window. Meier was arrested for 4th Degree Criminal Mischief and jailed.

Then, on the evening of February 4, 2016, at 10:09 PM, two people reported being shot with a bb gun near 4th and North Adams. At least one of the victims sought medical treatment for their injury. The shots were allegedly fired from the damaged vehicle with the broken out rear window from the February 1 incident. Most of the young adults involved were also at the earlier incident on February 1, police say.

So far, Jessie Lee Timmons, age 15 of Mason City, has been charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault. He was booked and then released to a parent. His case will be referred to Juvenile Court Services.

Police say this case is still under investigation and will also be referred to school authorities.

Dumb azz kids. Even a BB gun can put out a eye.

Why is it being referred to school authorities? Did it happen on school grounds? Please enlighten me.

I guess I can live with that. I didn’t know it was a “formal” procedure. I would think word of mouth would get the job done.

I have one caveat though. The same procedure must be in effect for the school district employees, except that the school board would be notified instead of the school district. So ANY violations of the Iowa Code etc. would be transmitted to the school board.

What did she expect, somebody flipper her off, so what, how did that hurt her. No, she followed them to the parking lot like she was going to do something about it, then she really really got assaulted. At the parking lot it escalates into two people being arrested, and she’s not one of them. This incident is all her fault. To bad she wasn’t smart enough to keep driving after getting the finger. Dumbass!!!

Your the dumbass

*You’re…..Dumbass
