Wanted man caught walking down middle of road
MASON CITY – Police spotted a wanted man, accused of a number of crimes, walking down the middle of a North End street Wednesday and took him to jail.
A Mason City police officer stopped 22-year-old Charles Jerry Foster, who was walking down the middle of the road at Penn Avenue and 6th Street NE. Allegedly, Foster had committed an assault on January 20, leading to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. He was jailed and soon released, pending a court date. He awaits a hearing on February 12.
Foster was arrested earlier this month by Mason City police, when officers arrived at the Ashley Inn, 3451 South Federal Avenue, at 7:30 PM on January 11, 2016, to investigate a disorderly dispute there. Upon arrival and investigation, police discovered Foster was there, who was wanted on a theft warrant out of Floyd county. He was charged with assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. He soon pled guilty and was ordered to pay $525.00 in fines and court fees.
Foster is also facing a fourth-degree theft charge brought by Charles City police back in October. He awaits a February 3 hearing in that case.

This is the problem with tough guy culture in Mason City. When will this chain be broken? Support a culture of intelligence and peace. Put your fists and male egos to bed.
