CLEAR LAKE – Just after 7PM Saturday, Mason City and Clear Lake emergency responders were en route to a car accident with injuries at Bayside Avenue on the south side of Clear Lake.
There was at least one person injured, according to information sent to our newsroom. That person turned out to be 11-year-old Easton DeVries of Clear Lake. According to the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office, Easton failed to stop his bike at a stop sign and rode through an intersection at Bayside Drive and Lee Street. At the same time, 57-year-old Diane Beth Knudson of Webster City was southbound on Bayside Drive in her 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Easton’s bike struck the Tahoe, causing him minor injuries.
Mason City responders were on-scene at 7:30 PM with Easton. They transported him to Mercy Hospital in Mason City for treatment.
