MASON CITY – For a second time, a North Iowa area woman has been caught in Mason City with illegal drugs.
Sunday evening, July 12 at about 5:44 PM, a Cerro Gordo deputy crossed paths with Sharla Denise Murphy of Hubbard, Iowa in Hardin county at the 000 block of North Monroe Avenue. In this “causal encounter”, the deputy discovered that Murphy was in possession of an illegal prescription drug and methamphetamine. Murphy was arrested on drug possession charges and jailed.
Murphy was also arrested in Mason City by Cerro Gordo deputies in 2009 for possession of Xanex and methamphetamine. She later pleaded guilty.
